The Brodsky Fund Hires its First Executive Director

The Joseph Brodsky Memorial Fund is pleased to announced that Caroline Jennings has been hired as the Fund’s first executive director, thanks to a generous 3-year grant from the Zimin Family Foundation.

Caroline brings to the Fund extensive experience with a non-profit cultural institution, having worked for several years at the American Academy in Rome as the writer for development and manager for the Affiliated Fellows Program. Her background is particularly relevant for the Brodsky Fund, as she combines a knowledge of how fellowship programs thrive — most specifically, fellowships in Italy — with expertise in their management and in institutional and individual fund-raising. The appointment of an executive director will enable the Fund to expand and strengthen its donor base, offer the Fellows increased support during and after their residencies, build its programs, and upgrade its administrative facility.

The Fund is also delighted to welcome Elena Vitenberg as the new Russia Program manager. Based in St. Petersburg, Elena will act as the Fund’s liaison with the Fellows and fellowship juries in Russia. Elena also brings valuable experience to the Fund, as the founder and manager of the Cultural Fellowships in Russia program of the Likbachev Foundation. Previous to that,  she worked in the cultural programs of the Open Society Institute-Russia.

We at the Joseph Brodsky Fellowship Fund are profoundly grateful to the Zimin Foundation for helping us move to a new level of possibility and achievement.
